Personally I think Dig Out Your Soul is another great album from a very great band. It’s not the next ‘(Whats the Story) Morning Glory’ but most people where expecting that. The 90’s have gone but at least the band are moving on. However, if you listen to Dig Out Your Soul, you would be mistaken for thinking you where in the 60’s. Many of the tracks do sound very similar to the Beatles. But then again they are one of the Oasis’ biggest influances so it’s no surprise. I don’t want to write a full review, I could write in detail about every song but then I would probably end up writing a whole book along with my own autobiography so I won’t. I will mention the following songs though:
Bag It Up, a great intro for the album and probably one of my favourites off the album. Alot of people have been agreeing with me.
Waiting For the Rapture has gone down a storm at Live Shows. Liam isn’t happy that it’s sung by brother Noel, but I think Big Brother has made a splendid job of singing it.
Another song worth mentioning is not by the hand of chief song writer, Noel, but by brother Liam. I’m outta time is probably the best song off the album as most reviews are saying. It is certainly the best song he has written of his career, if not the classic Songbird, and shown the rest of the band he is just as good as brother Noel. Adding to this is his voice. Liam tends to have a more ‘grizzly’ voice nowadays but in this case, he sounds much more like his former, younger self. Job done Liam!
Like I said I could write about every song but there you go. So please give me your rating of Dig Out Your Soul. For me 8/10.
Cheers.
Its one of the biggest albums of all time, but do you think they should have made it even better by putting those two awesome songs on it instead of the two blank tracks?
Cheers.
Oasis did a tour for Dig out your soul before the album came out and into the release of it…but are they going to do another massive world tour for the album again or was that it? I’m in Vancouver and I missed the October show here!!
In your own opinions was it a good or bad album,I like it personally, and so does Liam,Noel dosen’t though, thats why there are no songs on it from ‘Stop The Clocks’.
What do you think of it though?|
Have you heard the new album Dig Out Your Soul?
Do you think it is the best so far?
NOT AS ARROGNAT THEN? You don’t know much about Oasis do you. LOL
Paperbag Writer- I LOVVVEEEE i’m outta time AND Soldier On! Liam has really shown he is a great writer. I think it is one of their most appealing albums so far. Not saying the best but I think it will be more well received by other groups than some others. Much like What’s the Story was. ![]()
I have folllowed them the entire time and they are more laid back and less arrogant now than ever beofre. They have finally settled into a great band with Gem Archer, Andy Bell, and Zack Starsky. They are even letting each other write songs. Definetly NOT as arrogant.
I do however think that their arrogance back then has damaged them with many because many can’t get past that part of their career because they were such a holes. I like them even when they were because I thought it was funny myself but ya know. That really pissed some people off.
Hey guys, Im from Australia, I love Oasis and want to learn about thier history, I was wondering, Be here now was the most anticipated album of all time yeah? As soon as people heard it, were they like, ‘omg, this is terrible!!!` or did they really dig it?
Cheers guys!
Alright, so I have Definitely Maybe, (What’s The Story) Morning Glory and The Masterplan and love all three, but my question is: now what?
I was going to get Heathen Chemistry, but heard that it was complete crap, so I decided on Be Here Now. And then I heard it wasn’t that great either, and that Standing On The Shoulders of Giants is even worse! I’ve been thinking of just getting Don’t Believe The Truth, because I heard such good things about it…but I just wanted to know what your opinions were.
Help please! And thanks for all the answers in advance!
