Oasis are one of “those” British bands.

Other of “those” british bands are:
Love, The Libertines, And they Will Know Us By the Trail of the Dead, Manic Street Preachers and Stone Roses.

All these bands are mega in Britian but not so much in the States…

Because people have short memories.

There was clearly a period during the 90′s where Oasis dominated the charts. Maybe some were too young to recall it. Maybe others are simply trying to get a rise out of you. Let those people bathe in their ignorance. One thing is for sure. Oasis has never been able to recapture their initial popularity in the states that they had from 1994-2000.

Perhaps to some “fading” is the equivalent to having “never broke.”

I think it was thought that they would be as big in the states as they were in England. They never broke on that level. No one can deny that they were incredibly popular over here, but I think they weren’t as transcendent (or as influential over american music) as people thought they would be.

At least I would assume that, truth be told I’ve never really thought about it.
