I don’t want to hear Beyonce, Mariah, or Whitney. Whitney doesn’t have the warmth that her cousin Dione Warwick has. Mariah is just nuts, and Beyonce is too….. forgettable, like Whitney.
All the music I hear now is contrived and slick, except for Pink, she’s just packaged….. but really good!
Aren’t there any more great singers, who actually meant what they sang? Songs that made you cry because they were so heartfelt? Here’s my favorite singers. Can you add to the list?
Karen Carpenter
Dione Warwick
Roberta Flack (Oasis album !!!)
Helen Reddy (Center Stage album)
Cher
Grace Slick
John Denver
Chris Rea
Elton John
Geddy Lee (from RUSH)
Tony Bennett (If I Ruled The World….)
Dennis DeYoung (Styx)
Barry Manilow (2am Paradise Cafe)

I love music of yesteryears but today’s top voices on my list:
Patrick Stump (he has a lot of soul in that gorgeous voice)
Joss Stone
John Legend
Robin Thicke
katie mellua…james blunt…excellent!..not forgetting Van Morrisson…a legend!
Tamia, Deborah Cox, Shanice, Dawn Robinson, Terry Ellis, Kelly Price, Coko, and even though you don’t want to hear it, Whitney Houston
Joanna Newsom – Emily
Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan – Revolver
Connor Oberst – First Day Of My Life
True proof that you don’t need a fantastic voice to convey emotion.
Right now I am listening to Joss Stone, Robin Thicke, and Amy Winehouse…all three are great vocalists in my eyes.
Joss Stone
John Legend

Keyshia Cole
