What happened to Liam Gallagher’s voice between Oasis’ earlier albums and their modern ones?

It’s undeniable that Liam can’t seem to hold notes for more than a few seconds anymore… And he sounds so raspy… Just wondering what happened.

    well its a combination of cigarettes and alcohol and performing 100′ s and 100′ s of live perfomances. However i think it is getting better or he is adapting to it. he voice is the best its been in like 6 years.
