The End Of ‘Oasis’, Does Anybody Care?

Oasis albums
Sad Eyed Lady Of New Zealand asked:

Noel quit ‘Oasis yesterday, signalling the end of a once great band. Are you upset or do you think like me that’s it’s about time they called it a day?

BQ: Favourite ‘Oasis’ album, tracks?

    eh.

Oasis was a on and off band for me.

We should be looking at this positively. Now, Noel might start his own band, and surpass Oasis.

I don’t really care, no. It didn’t help that the British press thought they were better than the Beatles.

BA: Champagne Supernova, simply because it got the most radio play. I don’t own any albums.

I am a fan although I much prefer the older stuff. I know there’s a lot of people around here who don’t like them but I do feel a little sad about it. I actually only got Be Here Now a couple of days ago.

No love lost here. They haven’t done anything worth listening to in over a decade.

    Stop Crying Your Heart Out

The band’s songs were anthems, not just songs. They inspired something many bands can only aspire too. They represented a generation of folks who identified with the songs, sang every song as they sang, and felt every word.

And if they “stole” from the Beatles, they were wonderful thieves indeed.

I love Oasis no matter what and yes, I do care. Liam and Noel fought all the time. They were going to split up eventually. The good news is they have a lot of supportive fans. Noel is working on a solo album and Liam is still in the music business.

I hope they get back together though.

The band will never be the same without Noel that’s for sure.

My favorite songs are I’m Outta Time, Bag It Up, Live Forever, and Hey Now.

they’ve been my favorite band since I was 9, and with them ending i feel like my childhood is ending.
say what you want about Oasis, you cannot deny the fact that they were talented musicians and songwriters

    BA:all of them were brilliant

What’s the Story Morning Glory – Don’t Look Back In Anger

A little upset, but the last album was a disappointment. I look forward to a solo record by Noel. I’ve always liked his singing voice better anyway. He’s been saving some of his better songs like “Solve My Mystery/Revolution Song” for such an album and it’ll be good to finally hear them.

I’m not really that bothered. They stopped being relevant about 10 years ago. It’s just been kind of depressing watching them going into decline and putting out a load of mediocre material.

    BQ:
    Album: What’s the Story
    Tracks: She’s Electric, Champagne Supernova

Their “Sell by Date had expired, they were good but could not be in the league of one of best bands ever.
