You have done some very detailed research. I think that Oasis are a fantastic band and Noel Gallagher writes some amazing songs.
I have seen Oasis 5 times and they always put on a good live show.

well my chemical romance is probably the biggest band in the u.s. right now, so popularity seems to have nothing to do with talent

Impressive as the stats are, until The Rolling Stones retire, they will be the biggest band in the uk by far. If you’re basing your argument on album sales, then Iron Maiden, Def Leppard and The Who are also miles ahead of Oasis, each having sold in the hundreds of millions. Those are just the first three that sprang to mind – I’m sure there are many more.

So while you could argue that Oasis are the biggest UK band of the last twenty years, you could not say they are the biggest ever, although they could potentially be if their album sales maintain their current levels for the next twenty years. I think it unlikely, however, that they will reach the same level as the bands mentioned above, given the diminishing sales figures of each of their successive albums.

Who care if people have sold more. Oasis dont give a fook about anything and arent ashamed to insult anyone they want… And they still sell 60 million albums? What Rock pigs!! :)
