I dug it out a few months back and gave it a whirl….It’s not the worst album in the world…not the best,by Oasis standard(up till then)But to tell you the truth i never hated it in the first place…Standout track for me…?? The Girl Who Wears the Dirty Shirt……Now if you wanna talk about **** Oasis albums….Standing on the Shoulders of Giants….Little James…. just embarrassing

I’m glad you asked this question because I have always thought that it is their most consistent album. I also think that Q Magazine are gutless for lowering their opinion of it from 5/5 to 2/5- Q care more about what is popularly regarded as ‘cool’ than what is good music.

It is basically to Oasis what ‘Second Coming’ is The Stone Roses- you will enjoy it a lot more if you like psychedelia in your rock.

Those who are looking for 12 three/four minute singles will be disappointed. This album is so long that the most fitting place to listen to it is in your car on a long journey.

It’s not a bad album. It has good songs on it.The reason,I think many disliked it because the press started slagging it off.I think it didn’t go beyond their expectations. That there was no progression of some sorts as to musicality, artistry wise.(which is true enough in certain points). To me,its What’s the Story,Part2.Fade-In Out,Don’t Go Away and It’s Getting Better Man are the ones I like the most. But it’s not a bad album, really.
