If John Lennon was still alive, what other artists would he most likely compile music with? and why?

oasis albums
Grayson M asked:

Example:
1) Bono – similar world political views, both have resonating voices that would compliment each other’s styles
2) Paul McCartney – Page and Plant did it!!! (just not use the Beatles name)
3) Oasis – publicity/gimmick
4) The Rembrandts – publicity/gimmick
5) Elton John – in 1974, “Whatever Get’s You Through the Night” worked.
6) Jeff Lynne (from ELO) he did a lot of work with The Beatles Anthology albums, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr stuff…
7) Ozzy Osbourne – they wear similar styled glasses, plus Ozzy lists Lennon as one of his biggest influences. 8) Julian Lennon – why not?
9) Pete Best (Original Beatle drummer)
10) David Bowie – merely for more “Fame! – Fame!”

No one, because he’s too cool for that :p

I think him and Bono would make a great album together.

Other than that, Lennon has no rivals.

No one…John was never much of a collaborator. Even though McCartney got equal billing for Beatle songwriting (that was their agreement), most, if not all, Beatles songs were written by one person or the other (or, it was a ditty from George when they’d let him).

If he were still alive he would probably be so disgusted with the world that he would have become a hermit and quit music altogether

    or

He would have been too inflenced by the horrible music that came to follow his demise that we wouldn’t love him anymore

    or

Yoko Ono featuring Moby – Blech!

definitely Sean Lennon and Yoko Ono, for obvious reasons

definitely Bob Dylan as he called Subterranean Homesick Blues, “captivating on every level”

    probably Neil Young

i agree with your choice of “Bono”, disagree with your choices of Oasis (G. Harrison hated them, and said they sound like the Beatles, so probably Lennon would feel the same way), and the Rembrants (what have they done besides the “FRIENDS” theme song?)

I don’t think he would have played that much with McCartney but they probably would have done some Beatles Reunions together.

It’s too obvious that he would’ve very likely collaborated with the ones you listed. But I’d go out on a limb & say he would’ve probably worked withe the more politically & socially aware rappers. John was into ‘revolution’ & change & I’d think that he would’ve known that something that incited plenty of debate was a good thing. Rap definitely does that.

It’s hard to “imagine” but John would be 66 years old. I think he would have mellowed and done a thing or two with Paul. I also think he would have been involved with Sean’s musical career as well – producing, writing, etc.

I also think he would have become more of an elder statesmen type, promoting peace and other good causes. And in the final years I believe he would sit back and just “watch the wheels go round and round”.

Well, the obvious answer is Paul McCartney!! They were in the beatles together! John was a good soloist too like in Imagine. But still if he were alive today, he would still be rockin’ with the Beatles!!!

I don’t think John would have collaborated with anybody obvious.Yes he would have been involved with many of those mentionned in that he would have participated as a songwriter or producer but no one shared a stage or a record with John Lennon outside of Yoko.If he collaborated with someone it would be some complete unknown or someone so foreign to his style of music (note his bemusement with reggae before he died).John Lennon marched to the beat of his own drum and would never collaborate with a star close to his footing unless it was someone who really needed his help (Eg. Ringo)
