For me it would definitely be:
Foo Fighters (particularly ‘There Is Nothing Left To Lose’)
Metallica (I owe a lot to ‘Master of Puppets’)
Alice In Chains (lest we forget ‘Dirt’)
Nirvana (‘Nevermind’…always on my mind anyway)
Led Zeppelin (I adore the earthy sounds on ‘Led Zeppelin III’)
Iron Maiden (‘Run to the Hills’ was my childhood anthem)
Coldplay (‘Parachutes’ sends shivers down my spine)
Special mentions: Slayer, Sabbath, Mudvayne, Oasis, Rammstein and the epic Faith No More.

Up until some of Tupac’s music got approved by The Vatican, I always imagined the guys up there listened to Gregorian chants, Arias, Masses and other secular music by Handel, Mozart, and others. But according to this publication found in a Pink Floyd fan site has totally blown my mind. I’m not thinking for one second that they just chose Tupac because of the impact hip hop/rap has made, but they also picked a great top 10 rock/pop dessert island albums
“L’Osservatore Romano, a weekly newspaper issued by the Holy See (Published since1861, the newspaper follows the Pope’s public activities, provides editorials by Catholic Church executives and publishes official Vatican documents) has extended its musical tastes to issue a list of what it considers to be the top ten pop and rock albums of all time. Amongst them is Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon. The paper said the 10 albums were the perfect listening material for anyone who found themselves marooned on a desert island.”
Revolver – The Beatles
If I could Only Remember My Name – David Crosby
The Dark Side of the Moon – Pink Floyd
Rumours – Fleetwood Mac
The Nightfly – Donald Fagen
Thriller – Michael Jackson
Graceland – Paul Simon
Achtung Baby – U2
(What’s the story) Morning Glory – Oasis
Supernatural – Carlos Santana
What is your fave song from the new Oasis album?
MINE: Soldier On.
BQ: What is “Lady Grey” which is referenced in the first song?
For these statements do you find them true or false
1. Everlong by the Foo Fighters is better then Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana
2. (What’s the Story) Morning Glory isn’t the best Oasis Album
3. The Guess Who are better Than Rush
4. The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s best album is Axis: Bold As Love
5. Bleach by Nirvana is beter than Nevermind
6. Cheap Trick is a band that deserves more respect
7. U2 isn’t as bad as everyone seems to want to believe they are
8. Thin Lizzy is the Best Glam Metal Band
I really like music, but I only listen to very few bands. There’s not many bands that I actually like, but what | do like, I really like.
I’m in my mid teens and strangely enough I don’t like modern music very much either (except from the last couple of albums from Oasis, the Verve, and the Rolling Stones), only a handful of classic retro stuff.
These are like, THE only bands I listen to:
Oasis
the Beatles
the Rolling Stones
Russel Morris (Not a band, I know, but he still does good music)
the Verve
I just feel I’m being too picky about what I listen to. I’ve tried opening up a bit and tried to make myself like new music, but I just can’t!
I really feel a bit odd when everyone talks about the 100 greatest bands or whatever, and I only like five of them!
I go to the page where the album is, I click the button that says “PRE-ORDER”, it says “Are you sure you want to pre-order “Dig Out Your Soul”?”, I say “Yes”, and then the following message appears:
“The item you tried to buy is no longer available.
The availability of the album changed while you were using the store. The same item may be available with a different price or elsewhere on the store.”
Does anyone else have a problem like this?
I don’t know if it matters, but this is the first album I’ve tried to pre-order on iTunes.
Oasis’s forthcoming album?
They started recording on July 3rd last year, and it’s due to be released in the Summer.
Anyone know the name of it ?
And if they’ll be doing a tour, UK?
xx
yip.
7th album
:D
Noel announced it on NME.com last June
I be goin to a radio station to work tonight and wanted to play some Oasis, but we have is the ‘Definetly Maybe’ album, What are some real good songs off it?

To me, the list seems eerily dominated by british hype bands…what do you think of this list? Are lists overrated?
of* all time…damn i can hardly type today…
rnrstar – i think this was in 2005
the only album I’ll be willing to say is truly overrated is Appetite for Destruction, for good reasons….
GESM – You know this isn’t MY LIST right? this is BBC 6…and I don’t like it either, really
