OR
Definately Maybe and Morning Glory from Oasis?
Love to hear your thoughts!
Cheers!
my favourite film is the deer hunter , truly amazing acting and shows how the powers that be always have an impact on all our lives somehow regardless of who and were we are in our lives.
my favourite band is joy division because there original and every song has escaped the grasp of the corporate fat cats and stays with the band and what they want to say.
favourite song this is a tricky one as there are many i love but ive gotta say redemption song by bob marley a true classic.
favourite album has gotta be definitely maybe by oasis as i loved this album and still sounds better than anything they have done to date , i think the new albums good but there first album was part of my growing up.
This is your opinion obviously. mine is with out a doubt U2 or oasis because all their albums sound the same and not a good same it’s just boring and safe, however despite pushing the boundaries of mediocrity people go crazy for them.
I really like music, but I only listen to very few bands. There’s not many bands that I actually like, but what | do like, I really like.
I’m in my mid teens and strangely enough I don’t like modern music very much either (except from the last couple of albums from Oasis, the Verve, and the Rolling Stones), only a handful of classic retro stuff.
These are like, THE only bands I listen to:
Oasis
the Beatles
the Rolling Stones
Russel Morris (Not a band, I know, but he still does good music)
the Verve
I just feel I’m being too picky about what I listen to. I’ve tried opening up a bit and tried to make myself like new music, but I just can’t!
I really feel a bit odd when everyone talks about the 100 greatest bands or whatever, and I only like five of them!
The past few months I’ve been taking b-sides off singles by my favourite bands (the Verve, Oasis, etc) and then I sort them into my own compilation albums on my Ipod. I even give them their own names as well =P Eg. I took all the b-sides from Be Here Now and called it ‘Was There Then’
I just want to know I’m not crazy and that other people do it also! lol =D
If you could have had the choice to choose the track-listing of the “Stop The Clocks” Compilation record, what would it have been? It could include b-sides, rare/lost/new tracks, album tracks, covers, etc. Just pretend that it was up to YOU to choose it for the release. Which 18 tracks would make the cut?
Mine would be:
Columbia
Bring It On Down
The Meaning Of Soul
Hey Now!
Eyeball Tickler (B-Side)
Hello
All Around the World
D’You Know What I Mean?
The Importance Of Being Idle
The Masterplan
Gas Panic
Lyla
Go Let It Out
Turn Up The Sun
Let There Be Love
I Can See It Now (B-Side)
Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders?
Lord Don’t Slow Me Down
Mine:
Lady Gaga – The Fame Monster – Speechless
Prince – 1999 – D.M.S.R
Muse – Absolution – Stockholm Syndrome
Oasis – Definitely Maybe – Live Forever
Janet Jackson – The Velvet Rope – Got Til It’s Gone
Thanks Jimmy!
Up until some of Tupac’s music got approved by The Vatican, I always imagined the guys up there listened to Gregorian chants, Arias, Masses and other secular music by Handel, Mozart, and others. But according to this publication found in a Pink Floyd fan site has totally blown my mind. I’m not thinking for one second that they just chose Tupac because of the impact hip hop/rap has made, but they also picked a great top 10 rock/pop dessert island albums
“L’Osservatore Romano, a weekly newspaper issued by the Holy See (Published since1861, the newspaper follows the Pope’s public activities, provides editorials by Catholic Church executives and publishes official Vatican documents) has extended its musical tastes to issue a list of what it considers to be the top ten pop and rock albums of all time. Amongst them is Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon. The paper said the 10 albums were the perfect listening material for anyone who found themselves marooned on a desert island.”
Revolver – The Beatles
If I could Only Remember My Name – David Crosby
The Dark Side of the Moon – Pink Floyd
Rumours – Fleetwood Mac
The Nightfly – Donald Fagen
Thriller – Michael Jackson
Graceland – Paul Simon
Achtung Baby – U2
(What’s the story) Morning Glory – Oasis
Supernatural – Carlos Santana

1. Coldplay (favorite title & album?)
2. Keane (favorite title & album?)
