amphetamine asked:

When people will go “Oi maybe it was ahead of it’s time” or ” misunderstood genius”… Kind of like how “Th velvet underground and nico” is now widely praised after being panned on release. I think oasis’ “Be here now” and Happy Mondays’ “Yes Please!” qualify for that…. what do you think?

Who are the top 5 best bands/artists in the world right now?

razzthekid89 asked:

Who, at this very moment in time, holds claim to being the greatest in the world?

I would say:

Kings of Leon: (not because of *** on Fire/Only by The Night (which is a great album) but because of the utter brilliance of the epic first three albums). There is no band of recent times that come near them, they are head and shoulders above everyone else, in a league of their own. If they continue as they have done so far, they will surely be conidered one of the greatest bands ever.

Oasis: Noel is still banging out quality tunes. They seem to get bashed quite a lot these days, undeservedly so. I can’t understand how people can say they are overrated etc. Nobody can deny that Noel is the greatest songwriter of his generation, the amount of top class, groundbreaking tunes he has written over the years is astonishing and Definately Maybe & WTSMG are untouchable. Liam has come into his own aswell recently with a few belters.

Red Hot Chili Peppers/John Frusciante: Frusciante is a musical genius/living legend. The Chili’s kick ass, Frusciante the best guitsrist in the world right now and his solo records are mesmorising. His backing vocals is an art form in itself.

Radiohead: The Bends and Ok Comp are classics and then they go and unleash In Rainbows…unreal.

Stereophonics: Hugely underrated, have churned out some classic albums over the years and Kelly’s voice is awsome.

Raymond asked:

At the recent 2010 Brit Awards, Oasis’ ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’ was awarded the greatest British album of the last 30 years. I’d like to see what other people think regarding the greatest British album of the last 3 decades, because there is a mighty large amount of masterful British albums that have come out since 1980 that I would place above the aformentioned album.

I’ve been listening to B-sides by Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, and Blur and am amazed at how much great material is there. Any other bands that have a history of great releases not on albums?

Joe L asked:

20,000 miles to an oasis
20,000 years will I burn
20,000 chances I wasted
waiting for the moment to turn

I would give my life to find it
I would give it all
Catch me if I fall

Sir Alan asked:

I usedta pride meself on getting down with the kids. I’ve listened to all the wicked movers and shakers in the music biz throughout the decades.
During the 70′s Chas and Dave were never off my turntable and in the 80′s I had all of Dexys Midnight Runners albums. In the 90′s I was more of a Blur geezer than Oasis. A coupla years ago Lady Ann bought me So Solid Crew’s new LP and I loved their bangin tunes.
But lately I’m feeling outta the loop. I keep hearing about these ‘Jonah Brothers’, ‘Miley Vyrus’ and ‘Hannah Bandana’ but I ain’t never heard them singing. I keep waiting for them to turn up on Top Of The Pops or The Old Grey Whistle Test but they ain’t been on yet.
Are they any good?
Oi Braziliant: Ain’t you got any patience? That Amstrad of yours is currently being shipped from Taiwan. I’m seeing to it personal. You’ll ‘ave it by June!
Wot do you expect for 50 quid?!
