Up until some of Tupac’s music got approved by The Vatican, I always imagined the guys up there listened to Gregorian chants, Arias, Masses and other secular music by Handel, Mozart, and others. But according to this publication found in a Pink Floyd fan site has totally blown my mind. I’m not thinking for one second that they just chose Tupac because of the impact hip hop/rap has made, but they also picked a great top 10 rock/pop dessert island albums
“L’Osservatore Romano, a weekly newspaper issued by the Holy See (Published since1861, the newspaper follows the Pope’s public activities, provides editorials by Catholic Church executives and publishes official Vatican documents) has extended its musical tastes to issue a list of what it considers to be the top ten pop and rock albums of all time. Amongst them is Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon. The paper said the 10 albums were the perfect listening material for anyone who found themselves marooned on a desert island.”

If I could Only Remember My Name – David Crosby
The Dark Side of the Moon – Pink Floyd

The thing is, Christmas will be the first gift-giving event of our relationship, since we’ve been together for just over three months. However, this means I don’t have a clue on how much to spend on him, how many gifts to get him, what types of gifts to get him. I’m really clueless. I’ve bought him one gift so far: a large canvas with all the album arts of the oasis albums, since they’re his favourite band. But I don’t know what else to get him >.<. This is all coupled with the fact that he is my first ‘proper’ boyfriend, so I’ve never had to get a gift for a boyfriend, so don’t know the etiquette associated with it. I’m 17 and he is 20 if that helps. Any help would be highly appreciated.
I will be going on the RC Oasis of the Seas cruise ship in mid-January and it has have 2 Formal Dinners (Formal: Suits and ties or tuxedos for men, cocktail dresses for women). Are these dresses appropriate for the dinners?

Also I am 19 years of age if that makes a differance.
So for my room, I want to make a poster-sized collage featuring album artwork of the Beatles. (Bootlegs, singles, actual albums – all of it.) Does anyone have any idea how many covers there are; and also does anyone know where I can find pictures? Thanks!
Also, I was thinking of making some for other bands I like, such as Queen, Oasis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc. Is this a good idea?
song?
song for lyrics?
b-side?
vocal performance from liam?
vocal performance from noel?
album?
single?
video?
gig?
I was wonder what ya’ll thought of this:
I personally think its great. I kinda like it better than the “Grey Album”.
I can’t find the complete show on youtube and dont wanna get it of itunes, any suggestions on where i could download it, its on the time flies greatest hits album, thanks
Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock (in other words, Dig Out Your Soul era Oasis minus Noel) have a new band. It’s called Beady Eye.
Their official site has launched: http://www.beadyeyemusic.com/
I find this exciting. =P
I prefer Noel to Liam in general, but I must admit: I am rooting for this new band. Liam has matured as a songwriter (“I’m Outta Time” and “Soldier On” were fantastic) and is still, of course, a top-notch frontman.
And Andy Bell could prove to be his “secret weapon.” Ride were a great band. The super-talented Bell might have been a quiet figure in Oasis (in which he played bass, replacing Paul McGuigan), but I bet he will have a more important role in Beady Eye. I believe his considerable songwriting talent and impressive musicianship will push the songs to the finish line when Liam is unable to.
So, fellow Oasis fans, will you give Beady Eye a chance? I am excited for their first single, expected to drop in October.
Bonus Q: Top three Oasis albums?
I say:
1. Definitely Maybe
2. (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?
3. Standing on the Shoulder of Giants
Excuse my english (i’m Brazilian and speak Portuguese).
